Working with wet wood can be very interesting. After finishing your piece you place it on the mantelpiece stand back admire then head off to bed. In the morning you return for further admiration only to discover that in the night someone has replaced it with a completely different piece off work. The finish often becomes much more interesting as different sections of the wood dry at different rates. Also a lot of warping can occur due to the fact that when wood dries it won't shrink in height but will in girth. |
